Thanksgiving
Psalm 59:16 "But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble."
Thank God for His strength and His love... last night on my way home on the bus I was feeling really tired and was practically dozing off, head tilting precariously close to the window (thank God din bang against it else it'll be *thud*). I didn't have much sleep for the two nights prior to that, due to the mosquito invasion that has been taking place for the past 2-3 weeks. Anyway, near the end of my bus ride it just occurred to me to pray, for strength, while at the same time I randomly turned to some "classic" songs that I had in my phone. First it was "Worlds Apart" by Jars of Clay, then "When God Ran", followed by "I can only imagine" by Mercy Me, and lastly "I will follow Christ" by Clay Crosse. I found myself being lifted by God as I listened closely to the lyrics of each song... God strengthened me, through a combination of being reminded of who i am, who He is and what my purpose is. =D
And finally when I reached home, I saw the verse above being put up as the verse of the day on biblegateway. =DD Naturally, I woke up this morning singing about His love for me, haha.
I think about affirmations and encouragement, how we do these on a personal basis usually, and publicly they happen during times like birthday celebrations, appreciation days etc. Do we need encouragement? YES! Should they be limited to certain occasions? NO! In fact God tells us to encourage one another daily (Heb 3:13). Therefore I'm gonna use the blog as an avenue to do so. =)
Thanks Crystal and Ian for staying back to wait for me for supper on Monday. Though supper did not materialise, glad to know that the 2 of u are willing to stay late to spend time, despite having work the next day. More opportunities ahead!
Thanks Crystal for the sharing of ur perspective towards various things on Monday late night. I'm refreshed by ur insights, hope to be able to put them to good use.
Thanks Michelle for ur teachability and willingness to listen and obey. It really takes 2 hands to clap, so as much as I want to share, it also takes a teachable heart to receive. Keep this spirit, or rather, grow it, it'll serve u well in ur walk!
Thanks Edmund for stepping out of ur comfort zones, it's encouraging to see u doing so to progress the kingdom of God. Continue to seek Him and obey the things He wants u to do, and ur efforts wont be in vain. Thanks for the time today too, I enjoyed it. =)
Let's continue to spur one another on with love and good deeds, to be the tree with branches that the birds of the air can perch in!
